Sustainable, vegan and environmentally friendly materials

Sustainable materials

Plastic free packaging

Plastic-free packaging

As many already know, plastic is a major problem for the environment, animals and our health. However, if you often order something online, you may be frustrated by the amount of unnecessary plastic that's left after unpacking the package. As we are committed to constantly improving the sustainability of our small business, we only pack your orders with plastic-free materials. We like to use jute, recycled paper and other recyclable materials that don't harm the environment.

Textiles made from plant materials

All our products are made in a sustainable way from plant-based materials such as linen, cotton or jute.

Linen is one of the most sustainable fabrics you can choose for your home. Growing linen requires less water and pesticides, and there is very little waste as the whole plant can be recycled. It is also a very durable, hypoallergenic and breathable textile that also looks very luxurious.

Cotton is a renewable resource that is also biodegradable, hypoallergenic and durable.

Also known as the "golden fiber", jute is one of the longest and most widely used natural fibers for various textile applications. Jute is obtained from the bark of the white jute plant, is biodegradable and recyclable and therefore environmentally friendly. The jute plant requires less fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides compared to other plants.

Such materials are renewable and biodegradable, making them an excellent choice as an eco-friendly fiber throughout their product life cycle.

Vegan and eco-friendly

Vegan

All of our products are made from vegan, eco-friendly and natural materials. This means we don't use wool, leather, wax or any other animal-based materials in our products. We work with our artisans and carefully select our products to ensure they are made from sustainable, vegan materials. One of our main concerns at Living Multicultural is to do as little harm as possible to our planet and all living things while conducting our business. For this reason we support the term "vegan" and integrate it firmly into our vision.

Environmentally friendly

Our goal is to have as little impact on the environment as possible, which is why we also avoid synthetic materials. Any type of synthetic fabric consumes a large amount of chemicals and emits toxic waste and emissions. Polyester and nylon both emit nitrous oxide, which is 300 times more harmful to the environment than carbon dioxide. Synthetic materials that are biodegradable break down into microplastics that are potentially even more dangerous to ecosystems and health.

We recently started offering non-toxic, 100% natural soy wax candles in our store

with pure essential oils that contain no paraffin or perfume. It has been found that perfumes often contain chemicals that are on the EPA's hazardous waste list, including: cancer-causing chemicals, known neurotoxins, respiratory irritants, phthalates, narcotics, and more. In addition, when paraffin candles burn, they emit black soot and toxic fumes - similar to diesel exhaust - which contain toxic chemicals such as benzene, toluene, naphthalene, tri-decane, tetra-decane, penta-decane and hexadecane. On the other hand, natural candles seem to release the least amount of potentially dangerous chemicals.
